I've Never...

I know, I know, I have been a serious slacker when it comes to blogging.
I figured it was time to jump back in, now that the Leg. session is coming to a close (work is crazy at this time).

Enough excuses, on to the updates!

Bootcamp has been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Things I never did before bootcamp:
  • I've never been so sore in my entire life...before bootcamp
  • I've never had to brace myself before sitting on the toilet...before bootcamp
  • I've never had to foam roll so much in my life...before bootcamp (I even bring it to work, it works WONDERS!)
  • I've never had to buy Icy/Hot...before bootcamp
  • I've never been so hungry...before bootcamp
  • I've never had to record how many calories, grams of protein, fat or carbs...before bootcamp
  • I've never had to say NO to a Haystack... (FYI- A Haystack consists of good ol' Texas brisket, sausuage, beans, cheese and fritos goodness)...before bootcamp (I do make exceptions though).
  • I've never had to beg so much for a massage EVERY night from my boyfriend, even offering to pay him...before bootcamp (side note: He hasn't made me pay yet).
  • I've never been able to do a full pushup...before bootcamp (weak arms, folks!)

And my personal fave:

  • I've never had to wake up at 4:45 am, 5x a week, to exercise...before bootcamp
You get the idea!

Running update:
I desperately need to get on a running schedule, since I do my workouts in the morning now, I need to run at least a few times during the week after work, and definitely on the weekends when April can meet up and do longer runs. While still quite a few months away, I don't want to lose progress for the 1/2 mara.

10k pics update:
No my flash card is still corrupt...BUT we did get notifed by the photography company from the race who sent us the pictures..They are SO expensive I couldn't believe it. But, seeing as I don't have a choice, I need to order at least 1-2 for a memento of my first 10k.

new hair, new fitness routine!

Well, it's 3:15 and i'm not too tired, yet.

I started bootcamp today!!! And for the record, 4:45 am does come early! (Don't know how you do it, April). It was sooo nice getting the workout out of the way though. Once I get out of bed I'm fine and ready to go, full of energy. It's just pulling myself up out of bed and stepping onto the floor that's the problem.

So the first day was a success!!

My friend Adrienne joined (still waiting on April to join when her foot gets better!), so she came over and we rode over there together. The first class of the day starts at 5:30 and it's about 3 miles down from my house, so we were there in no time at all. We started off foam rolling for about 10 minutes (and as I recall from the previous bootcamp, foam rolling starts to feel REALLY good after a few days of bootcamp). So we did some other basic stretching, a little bit of jogging, then began our workout. It consisted of a lot of leg exercises, some abs, and some cardio thrown in the middle. It was a nice, but tough workout!

I know it's only going to get harder..but it feels good to be on the right track again!

And, of course, they make us do our food journals, so that helps to figure out what I need to eat for the day and how much.

On a completely unrelated note, my friend Adrienne dyed my hair for me. I was really nervous to go back to brown, just because the last time I did it, I had it done in the salon, but she did a great job! It feels gooood to be brunette again!
